V. P. LINGANAGOUDAR

Virupaxagouda P. Linganagoudar born on 1st July 1952. He did M.Sc. (Geology) from Karnataka University, Dharwad. Served as research fellow for two years and served as Lecturer in Geology in Karnataka University Dharwad for 1.5 years.

Entered in the field of cotton trading in the year 1980 and established the proprietorship firm Shubhalaxmi Cotton Traders, which is running successfully.

Services with various Social, Education, Trade and Religious Organization and Office held.

• Served as Secretary Rotary Club of Ranebennur for two years.
• President, Rotary Club of Ranebennur for the year 94-95 and awarded R.I. President citation award for rendering best service to the community such as polio eradication program, conducting free eye camps, health checkup, camps vocational training programs and helping various needy people who were effected by natural calamities and fire accidents etc.
• Serving as Hon. Secretary of Rotary Tagore Education Society, Ranebennur.
• Served as Chairman, Management Committee Merchants Association, Ranebennur for 7 years.
• Served as Vice-President of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce & Industries 1999-2001.
• Served as President, Merchant Association, Ranebennur for 6 years.
• Member, Karnataka Lingayath Education Society, Belgaum.
• Served as President Shree Sharannavaratri Utsav of his holiness Shree Jagadguru of Kashi Jnanapeetha held in 1996 at Ranebennur and honoured with “Mahachary Seva Bhushan” award.
• Considering the social and religious service “Dhanbhakti Sudhakar” award has been awarded by his holiness Shree Jagadguru of Veerasimhasana Peetha of Rambapuri.
• Served as Vice President, Karnataka State Cotton Association.
• Served as member of STD/PT allotment committee Dharwad Telecom District, Govt. of India.
• Served as Committee Member, Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee, South Central Railway.
• Served as Senior Vice President of Karnatak Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Hubballi for the year 2003-2005.
• Served as Telecom Advisory Committee Member of Dharwad Telecom District for two years.
• Now elected as President of Karnatak Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Hubli for the year 2007-2009.
