Karnatak Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Hubballi, seeded on 1st of August 1928 at Bagalkot by late Sri Murigayyaswami Jengin; with the whole hearted support and active participation of late Sri Srinivas Rao Mangalwedhe and Sri Nagappanna Abdulpurkar, has over a period, Germinated, Culminated and Fructified into a prestigious institution with its sinews spread throughout North Karnataka to bring in unity amongst the trade and industry and cater to the needs and requirements of people engaged in it. The dynamic successive Presidents of the Institution have taken it to greater heights with their Relentless Efforts, Dedication, Devotion and Discipline. It is registered under companies act, 1956. An ISO 9001:2008 Certified Organisation.
Over the years the Institution shifted its office to Gadag and then to Hubballi with its own building spread over a vast area of 13 guntas, at Jayachamaraj Nagar. Business Magnates and Industrial Tycoons like late Sri G. Mahadevappa, Sri C. S. Desai and Sri Veerabhadrapp M. Chigateri made exemplary donations after whose name the building of the Institution, the Auditorium and the Annexure Complex are named respectively. Great men were those who left their footprints. Sri Veerabhadrapp M. Chigateri donated to construct an Annexure in the memory of his father late “Dharmprakash Sri Murigeppa Chigateri” who was a great donner. The institution has added 3rd floor to its building with the donations from the management of The Sirsi Urban Sahakari Bank Ltd., Sirsi in memory of its founder Shri S. N. Keshwain.

The Chamber has perspired a lot to inspire many traders and industrialists of Karnataka State at large and North Karnataka in particular throughout its long passage of time. It has to its credit many laurels for having conducted exhibitions, seminars, workshops and symposiums on various trade, industry, agriculture and export to upgrade the knowledge of its members. It has also added feathers to its crown by inviting many distinguished personalities in trade and industry to address from its prestigious platform on various subjects like Central Budget, State Budget, Economic Policies of the Nation, Globalization, Privatization, Nationalization, GATT, Debt Trap, etc.,
The Chamber has also unfolded its heart towards socio-economic developments of this region. It played a pivotal role in bringing home the needs of this region like High Court Bench, IT Park, All Weather Karwar Port, Broad gauge conversion between Gadag and Viajayapur, Air Port, South-Western Railway Zone, etc. Its rallies and delegations to the authorities as well as memorandum and representations to the government in an effective way have given wonderful results. It has number of associations and district chambers affiliated which have strengthened its hands in raising its voice against grievances in an effective manner.
To add to the crown and to commemorate its Golden Jubilee, the institution established a Golden Jubilee Trust for the cause of educating the men, woman and prospective entrepreneurs involved in trade and industry and bring-in awareness of taxation and tax complying culture. The courses being conducted through the Trust on the most needed subjects like – Business Accounting, Taxation, Personality Development, Leadership Skills, Mock Interviews are popular, attracting not only the business people and also the students aspiring to acquire these specialized skills. To cope-up with the developing trends in trade and industry, the institution further spread its wings by establishing Hubballi-Dharwad Stock Trading House in the year 1992, first of its kind in the north Karnataka to facilitate and help investors and traders. Chamber is also instrumental in establishing Karnataka Material Testing Laboratory as chief promoter, which is the only one of it’s kind to meet the requirement of industries. The Chamber is invited for pre-Budget discussions by the State and Central Govt. With the effort of Chamber a Multiple purpose exhibition center is established with assistance of Government of Karnataka. It is spread over 9 acres of land with a built-up space of 5000 & 10000 sqft of covered area.
KCC&I, as popularly known, is affiliated to Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), New Delhi & The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India(ASSOCHAM), New Delhi. Past President Sri M. C. Hiremath, has represented ASSOCHAM managing committee 2010-2015 and also participated in WTO seminar on Way Forward to Doha resolutions.
The Chamber has spread its activates to overseas and has lead a delegation of Exporters/ Importers to Sri Lanka and signed a MOU with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Colombo and The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka for exchange of Trade related information and boosting up Imports and Exports between India and Sri Lanka. Also visited Peoples of Republic of China along with delegation led by ZDH/SEQUA of Germany and signed a MOU with Chang Zhou Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber has successfully and meaningfully tread Ninety long years with great accomplishments and is still growing strong to serve the Cause of Trade and Industry, the people of the region, their needs and goals.
August 1st Founder’s Day Celebrations
The KCCI recognises the great achievers in Industry & Commerce in this part of Karnataka and recognise & honour them on 1st of August every year, the day of Samsthapakar Dinacharane (Founder’s day).
The institution has now the Expertise, Unity, Strength and Influence to prevail upon the Government on its policies relating to Trade & Industry and its suggestions are being accepted by both the State and Central Governments.
